I’m an ad film director who gets to turn brand briefs and scripts into screen worthy commercials, often with some very familiar faces. Over the years, I’ve directed campaigns featuring stars like Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Sourav Ganguly, Sunny Singh, Mohanlal, and plenty more.
At times, I’m not just directing on set... I’m also conceptualising & writing the film from the very first spark of an idea. My work spans everything from premium brands and alco-bev to consumer durables, sports, automotive, lifestyle films & beyond... basically, if it needs storytelling with style, I’m in.
I’ve been obsessed with films for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I didn’t just watch movies... I tried to figure out how they worked. How images moved, how stories landed, why certain moments stayed with you long after the screen went black.
That curiosity turned into real world chaos pretty early. At fifteen, while most kids were worrying about homework, I was apprenticing on ad film sets with filmmaker Robert John Pinto (Johnny Pinto). Being on real sets at that age taught me things no classroom ever could... mainly that filmmaking is part art, part madness, and entirely collaborative.
I later moved to Los Angeles to formally study filmmaking at the undergraduate level, where the learning continued both in and out of school. I worked with Warner Bros. Television and the California Film Commission, getting a front row seat to how large scale storytelling actually functions. Along the way, I collaborated with filmmakers like Gregg Helvey (Oscar nominee) and Mason Richards (Cannes nominee), experiences that quietly but permanently shaped how I think about story and craft.
In 2012, I swapped sunshine for rain and moved to London to pursue an MA in Creative Industries Management at Kingston University. I graduated with distinction, but the real education happened outside the classroom... especially when I worked at the London Olympics with Olympic Broadcasting Services as a junior logistics liaison officer and assistant camera operator. Being part of something that massive taught me the underrated superpowers of filmmaking: planning, teamwork, and staying calm when everything around you is on fire.
Parallel to commercial work, I kept making films that mattered to me. My short films Maya and The Interrogation of Guru Kartaar Singh travelled to international festivals, including Cannes (2013). Over time, that journey expanded into meaningful commercial work with more than 600 corporate films, documentaries, and branded projects for brands like Pidilite, Raymond, OnePlus, Reliance Foundation, X, Facebook, and many more.
One of the most meaningful chapters of my life unfolded when I documented The Walk of Hope... a padayatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari with Sri M, alongside director Akash Chopra. Walking across India changed how I see the country, its people, and myself. The film went on to win Best Documentary at Berlin FFI and the Global Peace Award at The Hague, but the real reward was the perspective it gave me.
My work has since crossed platforms and borders. I’ve been part of global series like Indian Matchmaking and My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman for Netflix, and the upcoming Queens Park for Disney+. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched The Currious List Podcast, where I spoke to people I deeply admire... including Zoya Akhtar and Meghna Gulzar... mostly to satisfy my own curiosity.
The pandemic also gave me something rarer than work: time to think. Wanting to better understand how creative ideas become sustainable businesses, I went back to school (remotely) and completed an MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, Washington DC. It wasn’t about adding another degree... it was about learning strategy, finance, leadership, and decision-making so I could approach projects with both creative instinct and business clarity.
Since 2023, I’ve been directing large scale advertising films across premium brands, alco-bev categories, consumer durables, sports, and automotive. I’ve worked with stars like Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Sourav Ganguly, and Sunny Singh, and have had the chance to conceptualise, write, and direct for select production houses and clients.
At the end of the day, I’m just someone who loves telling stories. I care about work that feels honest, connects emotionally, and actually delivers value... both on screen and for the business behind it.
